A Web Series - EXIT Stage Left

Greetings all, I am heading a new web series called, "EXIT Stage Left" and we are looking for crew positions, getting ready to announce roles and auditions soon (SF Casting) and thought this would be a great place to let people know about our project and answer questions. The entire project will be shot in the SF Bay Area.

First a little bit about the show:

This is the story of the Lowry Theater Company and their staging of the new play A Wonderful World by Tim Haggard, a comedy about college life, the Vietnam war and the 70's. With the play set decades ago, the series itself is set just a few years back in New York City (allowing for a show within a show premise). Starting with the auditions, backstage antics and interpersonal relationships, the story is told from the producer's POV - the lone reasonable voice, amongst the cries of each demanding and talented performer.

Our project will be unique in scope and design as there will be many realtime aspects, including improv by both the actors and the crew, plus scripted "bridges" that will help tighten up the story, so performers with improv, comedy or theater experience would be a great asset.

We will produce this in high definition with multiple cameras to give it a more Office-type look, allowing us an opportunity to shoot faster with more freedom. The show will be streamed online via a branded website (coming soon) and will include cast and crew bios, interviews, photos, blogs and more...our initial episode will launch Dec 25th with new episodes on the 10th & 25th of each month, 13 episodes will comprise the first season. Our first cast/crew meeting will be the end of October, with our initial shoot dates in November.

Currently this is a no-budget production that will be looking at ways of supporting future episodes, through sponsorships, advertising and other possibilities. No positions (cast or crew) will be paid at this point, but it is our sincere hope to change that in the future.

FYI: we are shooting on HVX200 rigs, each camera team will consist of a shooter and boom operator, if you have experience or want to learn how to use them (and have experience on other cameras), please let us know.

Completely understand, we will be doing new episodes through the first quarter of 2009 (keep your fingers crossed) so hopefully you can jump in for an episode or two (love you give you a crack at shooting one of the live cameras) if you get the time, beyond that - hope you are doing well and thanks.

Greetings all - there is an active posting on SF Casting for EXIT Stage Left. We are having our first big auditions Thursday evening, Oct 30th starting at 6:30pm in San Francisco. If you are looking for a role as a lead, featured player or background extra, please come out and come talk to the producers of EXIT Stage Left, the new web series from Emerging Artist Productions.

6:30-6:50pm A brief introduction, character descriptions and story concept, plus a production primer.
7pm-9:30pm Auditions will consist of brief interview and improv role-playing on camera.

UPDATE AUDITIONS THIS SATURDAY _ NOV 1st

We are now casting our new web series and are holding our first round of auditions this Saturday, Nov 1st, 2008. If you are interested in joining us in San Francisco, we have two sessions available.

The first one starts at 12:45pm, and the second at 2:30pm. The auditions will last a little over one hour and will include a brief overview of the production, individual readings and some group improv.
